Los Cerritos Vacation Home

Scope: Architectural Design, Construction Documents, and Construction.

Set within the distinctive arid landscape of Los Cerritos, the project is conceived as a contemporary reinterpretation of Mexican colonial architecture, adapted to the region’s climate and desert coastal setting. This single-story residence includes four bedrooms and a complete range of outdoor leisure amenities, including a swimming pool, palapa, terrace, and barbecue area. The spatial organization prioritizes openness and generous ceiling heights, optimizing cross ventilation and natural light while framing and taking advantage of panoramic views of the landscape. Its formal and construction character is expressed through arches, moldings, thick walls, sloped roofs, and pergolas. The materials reinforce an atmosphere of warmth and tradition through a careful selection of finishes, including flagstone, clay roof tiles, porcelain flooring, granite countertops, and woodwork, resulting in a residence fully integrated with its natural surroundings.
