El Centenario Commercial Building

Scope: Architectural Design and Construction Documents.

Located in El Centenario, in the city of La Paz, this commercial plaza comprises the architectural design and construction documents for a complex inspired by the identity and traditional elements of Mexican colonial architecture. The building is developed across two levels, organizing retail spaces on the ground floor and a restaurant area on the upper level, whose orientation takes advantage of views toward the surroundings. The formal proposal is distinguished by the integration of traditional architectural elements such as decorative moldings, wood pergolas, handcrafted wrought-iron railings, and a dome that becomes a defining feature of the complex. The material palette incorporates cantera stone, window moldings, and Talavera-style tile details arranged within niches on the main façade. This careful selection of materials and finishes reinforces the project’s identity, creating welcoming and authentic architecture where tradition and harmony come together in a unified composition.
